I’ve been involved in Desktop Publishing and Web Design for over 20 years. I actually started out in Word Processing in the early 1980’s. It was very difficult to make the move to computers, especially for a woman back then, but I finally did it. My big break came when IBM hired me to work in one of the first PC Help Desks in the country.

In 1994, I discovered the Internet and have been building websites and working online ever since. I already had a great deal of knowledge about fonts and design layout so I bought a lot of books about how to create web graphics and web design in the beginning.

It’s amazing to me how far the technology has come in such a short time. It’s sooooo much easier to create web sites today than it was when I started. And, I just love the CMS programs like Wordpress.

In 2001, I became A+ Certified and started a small computer repair company in Arkansas. It was a huge success, but I became very ill in 2003 and that venture disappeared almost overnight. If you’re really curious and would like to know the outcome of that experience, you can read more on the About page at AskMyHealthCoach.com.

The entrepreneurial spirit has been in me for a long time. I’ve done the network marketing thing and tried lots of things online. When I was running the computer business, I also had a pretty nice little hosting company on the side. I was a reseller though and when the company sold out, the reselling end of things went away.

I’ve learned a couple of very important lessons through all of this. First of all, if you do network marketing or work for someone else, in any capacity, you will always be at the mercy of their decisions. If the business goes under, so do you. You have much more control when the business belongs solely to you.

Second, I learned that running a service business can be very risky. If you get sick, you can lose it all — and I did. But, unlike my computer repair business, where I worked at the customer’s site, this business can be completely done from my computer and the comfort of my home.

I hope that helps you to know me better. I’m looking forward to meeting more like-minded people in the Internet community.

It can be lonely being an entrepreneur, as most of us are quite different than the rest of the world. But, you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way. We are hopeful people. We never give up. We are curious and we are strong. We can endure a lot of pain along the way. And, we are idea makers. And, after all, it’s such an adventure!
